Manager - IS

Lead a team of seven within the CPOE group responsible for the Electronic Medical Record systems for the entire institution. Key projects and responsibilities include:

  • Development and implementation of Meaningful Use Stage 2 workflows and reporting for Eligible Hospital and Eligible Professional regulatory requirements.
  • Configuration and maintenance of Consolidated - Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) for healthcare data exchange initiated from Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) to the hospital patient portal and via NHIN Direct.
  • Lead ICD-10 implementation of dual-coding interfaces, updating of MLM and ObjectsPlus custom software, and conversion of other configuration items within SCM (order sets, physician favorite lists, superbills).
  • Manage operational, research, quality, regulatory and other reporting and data analytics requests from multidisciplinary teams across the institution.
  • Oversaw maintenance and enhancement to custom application for Pro-Fee billing for inpatient stays from within SCM through ColumbiaDoctors.

Provided sales support and pricing guidance; answered RFP/RFI proposals; reviewed and negotiated client deliverables and contracts. Managed client relationships and acted as escalation point for ongoing projects, client requests and issues. Specific projects/deliverables include:

  • Designed, tested and implemented electronic signature and new document routing system for 11 acute-care facilities to replace Nuance/Dictaphone system.
  • Directed consolidation project for combining two active client databases, supporting 20 facilities, into a single high-availability Oracle database instance.
  • Managed implementation of ICD-10 ready abstracting system to replace Eclipsys Sunrise Record Management [SRM] at a five-facility institution.
  • Converted mainframe abstracting, deficiency management, chart-tracking systems and related HL/7 interfaces to CHARMS 2000 client-server product suite at five teaching hospitals.
  • Oversaw migration to a new web-based, ICD-10 ready, abstracting system at 70+ acute-care facilities within a rollout deadline of nine months.
  • Led implementation of ICD-10 ready abstracting, physician query and clinical documentation improvement systems at 27 long-term care facilities.
  • Managed beta-site implementation of new eCDI [Clinical Documentation Improvement] solution at nine acute-care hospitals; Implemented HL/7 interface with Cerner Millennium (Care4) for physician query notification and cold feed to CGI/Sovera EMR.
  • Designed XML-based web-service integration interface between 3M/CodeRyte Computer-Assisted Coding [CAC] solution and Meta's PowerAbstract coding & abstracting product; Implemented this solution at nine acute-care facilities.
  • Implemented electronic signature module and document repository at seven facilities; Integrated solution with existing PowerMonitor deficiency management product for automated assignment and completion of chart deficiencies.

  • Monitored, maintained and provided second and third level support to 3000+ users on desktop trading applications from multiple vendors including Bloomberg and Thomson/Reuters.
  • Supervised packaging for Market Data applications to certify interoperability and compliance with firm-wide standards.
  • Implemented global Market Data software pilot procedures to provide smooth rollout of applications and ensure sign-off by affected business units.
  • Oversaw and maintained Market Data Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure pre-9/11.
  • Upgraded and expanded DR infrastructure to accommodate increased utilization post-9/11.
